Transitional Paintings & Carrot Cake

I don't know how I feel about these yet, being that I introduced raw sienna and yellow ochre into my palette. As you know blues, lavenders and pinks have always dominated my palette. It is quite refreshing to use other colors from the spectrum, but I feel uneasy at the same time. I'm not done with these, still working. I think the colors need to go deeper.

Yes, I baked a carrot cake today. It was around 1pm when I started and the afternoon was just starting to heat up. Cooking in a non-air-conditioned house, with a gas oven on, trying to whisk a batch of cake batter together and frosting at the same time, without an electric beater was quite harrowing. I'm wiped out from just that task alone. Somehow I made it into town to attend an artist meeting so I could reflect on my work as well as other local artists.
