Transitional Paintings

I think these new paintings with their long interwoven strands of gold sort of reflect the complexity of my relationships with family, friends and associates. When I referred to the web paintings of Vija Celmins I feel we all exist in a complicated web of life. I don’t mean to sound cliche, but it is life. I also see in these new images as an aerial view of life in general. Being able to exist without getting caught up in the chaos and just learning to observe. I was once embedded in the seriousness of it all, but now I feel liberated.

I would love feedback since this is a transitional period with my work. A little unsure of the direction I am taking, but it also feels profoundly real and freeing. I'm not sure if I should use monochromatic colors or keep a high contrast. Just exploring.
