"Optical illusions deceive. To begin the study of how color deceives and how to make use of this the first exercise is to make one and the same color look different. It is discovered that certain colors are hard to change, and that there are others more susceptible to change". Below is an example of a play on color. The small rectangle in the middle of the two opposing backgrounds appears as two different colors, an optical illusion.
